Morning activities will draw from the MOSAIC Project, mosaicproject.org, “Peacing It Together” curriculum, and will include activities to build empathy, resilience, and community, and to empower children to create a peaceful future.
MOSAIC stands for:
— Mutual Respect
— Open Mindedness
— Self Respect
The MOSAIC Project’s evidence-based, social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum focuses on four themes:
— Celebration of diversity and awareness of stereotyping, prejudice, and discrimination
— Respect for and appreciation of self and others
— Teamwork and cooperation
— Assertive communication and conflict resolution (including listening skills, expressing feelings productively, and empathy)
Other fun activities will fill the week. In the afternoon, there will be a variety of activities including non-competitive games, drama games, and choice activities. On Wednesday and Thursday, there will be fun field trips to San Jose Tech Museum , the Children’s Discovery Museum. And the camp finishes up with a pool party on Friday.
Snacks and beverages will be provided during camp. Children are asked to bring a bag lunch.
